God Of Carnage *

September 6th - 29th, 2024

Masquers Playhouse

Intelligently directed by Chris Rubingh … God of Carnage manages to be hilarious and poignant as it deals with integrity or lack thereof and the decline of civility.”

- East Bay Times

“First-time director Chris Rubingh does a great job of managing complex interactions, character nuances, and comedic timing… Superb Direction

- Marin Independent Journal

Remarkably well-directed by Masquers newcomer and recent Muhlenberg College grad Chris Rubingh…the play careens explosively between the deliciousness of (and recipe secrets for) the French dessert Clafoutis, the efficiency of certain plumbing fixtures, the complexities and vagaries of human nature, the quandary of parental responsibility and brutality toward pet hamsters, all of which are aired in this dark, one-act comedy.

- Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle

Delightfully directed by Chris Rubingh…I found myself drawn into the drama, hoping that they could peaceably resolve their war. As we eavesdrop on these super-conscious, privileged, and pretentious couples falling apart over their children’s fight, we delight in their bombastic, hysterical insults…Like all good satire, “God of Carnage” offers laughter and self-discovery.  Director Rubingh keeps the pace hopping as the two couples butt heads hilariously.
